In 2001, The Notebook Collection was created by 2 French Expats in Madrid. The Notebooks (available in English, French and German) were created to help ease the transition and integration of new expat families upon arrival in Madrid or Barcelona, providing a whole host of practical and helpful information in order to support and guide new arrivals in their new surroundings..

After the succes of the first release of the The Notebook Madrid, the Editora MAEMA team has published different notebooks : LE CARNET de Madrid, Le CARNET de Barcelone, THE NOTEBOOK Barcelona, HANDBUCH Barcelona.

To compliment The NOTEBOOK Madrid, an online supplement has been created
that covers the Cultural and Entertainments aspects of Madrid:
