Visiting emblematic buildings in Madrid during Madrid Architecture Week

The Madrid Official Association of Architects (COAM) along with the  COAM Architecture Foundation and in collaboration with Madrid City Council are organising the 12th Madrid Architecture Week.
Like in past editions, emblematic buildings in Madrid will be visited, such as the Stock Exchange, the Mosque, Sorollla Museum, the Teatro de la Zarzuela or the German School in Madrid, among others, and diverse urban itineraries will be followed, such as the bridges over the Manzanares or the Pantheon of Great Men and Women.

Casa Decor’s 50th edition

New edition for Casa Decor, the yearly event for interior design and architecture.
This time, Casa Decor will take place in an ancient royal factory, the Real Fábrica de Ceras, a neoclassical building from 1788. 42 teams of decorators, architects and restorers are sharing the 2.600 m² on all four floors and the magnificent terrace upstairs. For all design lovers.

EVENT : COMIC FAN. Culture and entertainment

This playful and cultural event naturally found its place at Madrid’s theme park. Enter the world of comics, fantasy and science fiction through a variety of activities: a micro cinema studio where the visitor gets filmed, photocalls to get photographed together with favorite real size fiction heroes, elf style writing, make-up and drawing workshops, role play shows and videos about the world of heroic fantasy...

Excellent news: Mercado de Motores is back this week-end!

Mercado de Motores flea market was suspended right before Christmas last year for license problems, but it comes back next week-end, which is great news for all us.
The event’s success finds explanation in the fact that it is a very unique concept in Madrid. A mix of flea market with all sorts of small designers, musicians playing live and guaranteeing the nice atmosphere, food corners so you can spend all day there and last but not least, the uniqueness of the place. The Museo de Ferrocariles as a background transports you the earl XXth century with its old wagons and locomotives. Great outing for kids too.

GastroMarket de La Industrial, for foodies

Here is a good outing idea for foodies this week-end: the GastroMarket organized La Industrial in the Malasaña area. You will find all kind of stalls with organic or quality products: cold cuts, fruits and vegetables, artisanal beer, as well as greek of french products.

Nomada Market, the creators’ fair is back this week-end

Nomada Market has been around for 10 years already and enjoying growing success. Its’ secret? A huge exhibition area, the enormous variety of creative stalls, workshops for both adults and children, gourmet corners, live music... SO pleasant to just walk around and bring a few small things back home. Remember to visit their website and appoint your kids to the "piñata creation" and the “birthday popup card” workshops.

Discover Madrid’s architecture by bike

Ahora Architectura (AA) is a cultural association founded by a group of architects and historians whose idea is to uncover the city’s architecture and urbanism through thematic bike itineraries. For instance, La Casa de Campo, Madrid from market place to market place, the city’s industrial architecture, Madrid from East to West etc. Many options to chose from, although you can also ask them to design a specific ride according to your needs. You may come with your own bike, or rent one from them if necessary.
An original way of discovering the capital.
