Zurbarán was a Spanish painter, friend and contemporary of Vélazquez. He was most famous for his religious paintings. Zurbarán enjoyed considerable fame, before becoming somewhat out of fashion and almost forgotten at the end of his life. The exhibition focuses on his artistic evolution, from his early paintings to his most acclaimed ones. Still lives and portraits complete the large selection of religious paintings.
